"Come on over and sit a spell"...as the owner's Texas great grandmother used to say!

This is a SERENE AND DELIGHTFUL Texas Breezeway house, also called a Dog Trot house, made just like the same houses in the olden days where one side was the kitchen, dining and living area, and the other was the bedroom and bathroom area. The middle is a wide enclosed hallway/breezeway filled with antique furniture, paintings, photos, and more.

Each of two roomy bedrooms (photos don't do them justice!!) has a comfy queen bed, antique furniture, plus each its own bathroom with colorful Mexican tile around the sink. Need more beds for a 5th or 6th person? The house includes two padded Coleman foldaway beds, especially good for children but long enough for adults. (You'll need to state you need them and have to rent both rooms to get them. $25 extra each.)

The family room has a fireplace with a mounted whitetail deer, books to read, belgium lace curtains, a fun purple grape collection to honor our wine country, antique dining drop leaf table, island bar, and a Texas country kitchen which includes a wide, bright and cheery window, utensils, pots and pans, etc.

Wifi, TV's, boom box for your CD's, and high quality washer/dryer.

Front porch with rockers and swing to enjoy the beautiful trees, and a sweet covered back porch with rocker and swing, and beyond that a wonderful DECK WITH PERGOLA, large and small table, plus lights. Take the big boom box outside and have your own soft music. What a perfect way to spend an evening!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....you will have one of the most beautiful natural front yards in town. TWO HISTORICAL OAK TREES which are hundreds of years old.

NOTE: there is a required DAMAGE DEPOSIT and if nothing is damaged in any way, you WILL get your money back. So far, everyone has gotten it all back because our wonderful renters were kind in their treatment of our house and property. :) Thank you for that! :)

WE ARE SORRY, BUT WE ACCEPT NO PETS and THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOUSE.

"WHAT'S IN THE AREA?? WHAT CAN WE DO??"

1) Fabulous shopping in downtown historic Fredericksburg, Texas! You can spend hours!

2) Many good restaurants, including German (I'm not crazy about German food but you may be! Many of them), Mexican (try the chips and hot sauce at Mamacitas), Thai (Ginger & Spice on 116 N.Crockett St), the Cotton Gin (aka Cabernet Grill, and I LOVE the pecan encrusted chicken breasts!), the Catfish Haven (you can walk to it on W. Main), Hill Top Cafe west of Fredericksburg (unique and fun) and many more.

3) Breakfast - check out the German Bakery on Main---they have fun German pastries of all kinds as well as a regular breakfast.

4) Drive to Enchanted Rock--climb up and enjoy the views!! http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/enchanted-rock

5) Check out the bats at the Old Tunnel State Park in the early evening as they swirl out. You'll get an educational talk ahead of time. VERY worth it. Call to find out about when they come out. http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/old-tunnel

6) Follow the above by eating at the Alamo Springs General Store & Cafe--you can walk to it. FABULOUS hamburgers, other food. Unique experience. Get your own drinks.

7) Go to Hondo's one evening. Dancing outside under the lights, bar, food...and FUN. Just over 4 blocks away, too.

8) Drive on over to Luckenback, Texas (you know, of Willie Nelson fame!!). Bar, singing, and the owner's cousin-by-former-marriage-to-my-cousin (haha) is the Cowboy Poet over there: Walt Perryman! Tell him cousin Janie said hello.
